Statement of Faith

1. God:

We believe that there is one God, eternally present in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

2. The Scriptures:

We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative source of Christian faith and practice. The Bible is a supreme revelation from God, superior to conscience and reason, though not contrary to reason.

3. Creation:

We believe that God, not chaos, created the Heavens and the Earth. On the sixth day of Creation, God formed Man in His Own image and after His Own likeness, and breathed into him the breath of life. God's visible creation provides clear testimony of His invisible existence.

4. Sin:

We believe that Man was created in the image of God, but through the influence of Satan he transgressed and fell from his sinless state, and as a result of sin is lost and powerless to save himself.

5. Jesus Christ:

Jesus Christ the only Begotten Son of the Father accepted earthly limitations, completely God and completely man; conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary, who came into this world to undo the work of Satan. He gave His life and shed His blood as the Sacrificial Lamb of God upon the cross to redeem and restore man back to God. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures and is now seated at the right hand of God making intercession for us as our great High Priest. He will return again to establish His eternal kingdom of righteousness and justice. Without Jesus we cannot have a relationship with God.

6. Salvation:

All Mankind are sinners, and in dire need of a Saviour. Salvation is only by grace; and no one, by virtue of any goodness or work of their own, can become a child of God. Salvation is only through Jesus Christ.

7. The Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, Executive of the Godhead on earth, the Comforter sent by the Lord Jesus Christ to indwell, to guide, and to teach the believer, and to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment.

8. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit:

We believe that the baptism or complete filling of the Holy Spirit may be freely obtained by all believers who simply ask God for it, and that it is often given after the Scriptural "laying on of hands" of other believers. The primary purpose of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is to empower the believer to witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others. "Ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto Me" (Acts 1:8).

Christians who are filled with the Holy Ghost should manifest the fruits of the Spirit as detailed in Scripture: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance.

9. The Gifts of the Spirit:

God gives all believers spiritual gifts. They are for the strengthening of God's Church (the Body of Believers) and proof of God's existence and power to unbelievers. The gifts of the Spirit are active and relevant today.

10. Baptism

Baptism in water is by immersion, and is a direct commandment of the Lord (Matthew 28:19). Baptism in water does not save you. This is an ordinance that is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. We do not adhere to the teachings that you must be baptised in water to enter heaven. We do believe that baptism in water is a direct command of our Lord and Saviour and is an outward symbol of your confession of faith in Him.

11. The Lord's Supper (Communion):

We believe that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ as a means for us to commemorate His death on the Cross for our sins, and that partaking of its elements is a profession of the believer's faith.

12. The Church:

We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, both universal and local, and is composed of individuals who, through faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Head and Lord of the Church. The mission of the Church is worship, evangelism, discipleship and the nurturing and care of one another.

We contend that the current disunity amongst various denominations is a ploy of Satan to divide and conquer God's true Church, the body of believers, and that we must strive to overcome our differences and present a unified front in the great spiritual battle we are facing in these troublesome days.

13. The Great Commission:

We believe the Great Commission which our Lord has given to His Church is to evangelize the world, to "go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). This should be the primary objective of all believers regardless of their status or office within the Church.

14. In Conclusion:

We urge God's people of all denominations and Churches to stand by the Scriptural truths we hold in common, and to "earnestly contend for the faith" (Jude 3). In the essentials may we have unity, and in the non essentials may we have love!
